We went to more than 50 New York Fashion Week shows and events. Recapping NYFW 2025

NEW YORK – We came, we saw, we conquered another New York Fashion Week.

The star-studded week of events – which included top-tier shows from Ralph Lauren, Coach, Tory Burch, Altuzarra and more – was not for the faint of heart. In a season that was packed to the brim with happenings from even before the official NYFW calendar began, it was a sartorial version of « The Amazing Race » to see and be seen on the scene while taking in the spring/summer 2026 collections. A-listers from Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King to Usher, Wendy Williams and Martha Stewart, plus up-and-comers like the « Love Island USA » Season 7 cast, made the rounds and brought star power to the famed front row.

SimonMiller

NYFW kicked off with a bright and banana-forward bang at the SimonMiller presentation. In a sun-drenched SoHo warehouse, creative director Chelsea Hansford walked through rows of striped cabana wares. The collection, which combined lime greens, tangerine yellows and brilliantly bright colors, housed hand-crocheted dresses, fish-shaped clutches and multi-toned bikinis. Hansford says she was most excited for retail in the coming year, having opened a storefront in Los Angeles and eyeing one in Florida. – Anna Kaufman

RVNG pre-NYFW cocktail hour

RVNG Couture hosted a swanky cocktail hour, serving a decadent buffet of appetizers and specialty cocktails as the evening’s guests milled around mannequins wearing floor-length gowns.

Stars like Anna Delvey (fraudster-turned-fashion week favorite) and model Brooks Nader stopped by to take in a collection defined by flair, from shimmering purple-and-white strapless numbers to bold fuchsia dresses with heavily draped fabric around the shoulders and waist. – Anna Kaufman

Brandon Maxwell

Brandon Maxwell celebrated his brand’s 10th anniversary with an ode to print media. Models walked the runway with copies of The New York Times, the Financial Times and the New York Post tucked into their purses. Maxwell wove in personal touches from his Texas upbringing: bolo ties, belt buckles and big wraparound visor sunglasses. – Anika Reed

Harlem’s Fashion Row

Black tie Harlem fly was the dress code for the luxe night at Harlem’s Fashion Row Fashion Show and Style Awards at Cipriani Wall Street. Usher (who, along with wife Jennifer Raymond, warmly greeted this editor) accepted the Virgil Abloh Award honor, alongside Oscar-winning trailblazer Ruth E. Carter and more honorees for the night, which also celebrated designers of Haitian heritage, including Daveed Baptiste, LaTouché and Atelier Ndigo, led by designer Waïna Chancy. – Anika Reed

Usher reveals what ‘encourages’ him to be ‘fearless’

Susan Alexandra x Rachel Antonoff

Designers Susan Alexandra and Rachel Antonoff teamed up for a dog show in the scenic bridgeside enclave of Dumbo in Brooklyn. Through a sponsorship by Milkbone, the pups on display were available for same-day adoption. Stars like Dylan O’Brien, Edie Falco, and Brianne Howey walked the runway in designer threads with leashes and purses to match. Former second daughter, Ella Emhoff, also watched on in the stands alongside Busy Philipps and « The Summer I Turned Pretty » star Isabella Briggs. – Anna Kaufman

L’Agence

L’Agence said it’s time to dance. At the brand’s presentation, complete with a bar and a disco ball, pieces fit for a party (sequined gowns, satin separates and bejeweled denim) were on display around a large circular platform at the center of the room. Larsa Pippen milled around the outskirts while Lindsay Lohan, in a silky slip dress and a shaggy cream coat, was spotted smiling and posing for photos with the brand’s fashion director Tara Rudes Dann. – Anika Reed

Libertine

In the unexpected calm of the Elizabeth Street Garden, opera music played at the start of Libertine’s runway show. The show’s theme, « Love Revolution, » was on full display with the collection’s bright hues and Yankee Doodle-style caps. Martha Stewart, Cyndi Lauper and Christina Hendricks watched on as an unexpected guest − a homeless man walking to the show’s drumbeat and dangling a cap from his hand − marched down the gravel runway.

« The world’s in a very hostile position right now, and we think love and beauty and brotherhood and understanding and humanity is more now than it ever has been, » designer Johnson Hartig tells USA TODAY of the show’s theme. Libertine helped with a protest to save the garden the year prior, so returning for the show felt like a « victory lap, » Hartig says. – Anna Kaufman

Ralph Lauren

Ralph Lauren continues to be a designer for yesterday, today and tomorrow, offering up new takes on timeless classics that feel effortlessly modern. Plus, his front row is always full of A-lister friends of the brand: Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, Usher, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra Jonas (who met in part thanks to Ralph Lauren), Jessica Chastain, Ariana DeBose and more. Fang

At a warehouse in East Williamsburg, Fang made its NYFW debut with a collection that pulled inspiration from queer rave culture and 1990s grunge. Techno music blared as models in unisex knitwear walked a runway strewn with moss and split down the middle with bulky metal beams. – Rachel Hale

Songs of Sirens

Designer Tinka Weener, founder of Songs of Siren, made a bold debut with an immersive presentation. Playing with the « office siren » aesthetic, models perused files, fiddled with staplers and gossiped while showcasing the collection’s hand-beaded dresses and two-piece sets, featuring serpents, suns and shimmering fabrics that tapped into Greek mythology and femininity. – Alyssa Goldberg

Oh Polly

Oh Polly teamed up with model Cindy Kimberly, known to her 7 million followers as Wolfie Cindy, to debut her Vita Velata collection, closing the runway in a cut-out, animal-print maxi dress. The collection featured bolero-style fur jackets, form-fitting sequenced gowns, fringe accents and plunging necklines. – Alyssa Goldberg

Ben Doctor

Ben Doctor’s show skewed toward a more youthful, heavily pierced crowd in a Chinatown warehouse, packing fans of the upstart New York City designer into a room so toasty, many used their program as fans. Doctor leaned into low-rise everything, a sign of the times, along with heeled sneakers, outlandish blonde up-dos, micro-shorts and mini dresses. – Anna Kaufman

Sloan

Minimalist, yes, but what Sloan offers is a lifestyle of « I woke up like this » ease with luxurious fabrications. Designer Julia Sloan’s latest collection, presented on a terrace at the Ritz-Carlton NoMad, could take you from brunch to the beach to a chic dinner all in one look (plus the shell bags will be the perfect accessory for next summer). – Anika Reed

J. Press

Future nostalgia at J. Press: The future of the runway, Solange’s model son (and Beyoncé’s nephew) Julez Smith and Bad Bunny’s model brother Bernie Martínez Ocasio, showcased preppy classics to a soundtrack that evoked sentimentality. BJ Novak sat front row for the small show at the wood-paneled Explorers Club on the Upper East Side. – Anika Reed

Norma Kamali

There could be 100 mannequins in a room… Norma Kamali continues her mission to make chic, flattering pieces at a relatively accessible price point. The new collection focused on neutrals, with black, white and gray pieces in ruched and shimmering dresses of all lengths, plus pops of pale pink. – Anika Reed

Lafayette 148

The hailing of print media as luxury made its way to another designer, this time the Lafayette 148 presentation, which boasted a collab with The New Yorker magazine. The play on words showed up in New Yorker-esque accessorizing and designs like « Thank you » plastic bags, NYC Metro cards and copies of the actual New Yorker tucked under mannequins’ arms. « The Morning Show » star Karen Pittman excitedly declared it « so good, » and champagne flowed into New York-style coffee cups while guests took home black-and-white cookies from Russ & Daughters. – Anika Reed

Kate Barton

Kate Barton’s presentation opened with an AI-generated model projected onto the surrounding walls, leaning into the uncanny tension between the digital and the tangible. She gives a tomboy look to feminine outfits, playing with structure and conformity by throwing a jersey over a pink bubble skirt. – Alyssa Goldberg

L’Enchanteur

On an industrial strip in Brooklyn’s Bushwick neighborhood, L’Enchanteur presented a collection rife with bespoke bags, inventive button-downs and sheer flowered fabric. Sometimes hooded models spiraled through an unconventional runway after an extended harp solo kicked off the show. Celebrities like Whoopi Goldberg, Lauryn Hill and Joey Bada$$ sat in the front row, and several small children walked alongside older models, sparking adoring coos from the audience. – Anna Kaufman

LEBLANCSTUDIOS

LEBLANCSTUDIOS offered a performance-heavy take, bringing visitors back in time with its « Museum of Common Oddities. » Performers milled around the crowd, dancing, delivering short monologues and posing in specific formations to cast their shadows just so. – Anna Kaufman

Contessa Mills

Nearly dipping into the Hudson River, the Contessa Mills presentation offered viewers a taste of beautiful baby blues and airy sets, maybe for lingerie, maybe for an adventurous wearer’s day-to-day. Guests, including « The Bachelor » star Caelynn Miller-Keyes, took in a collection defined by gauzy fabric, pinstripe motifs and underwire-heavy undergarments. – Anna Kaufman

Theophilio

Designer Edvin Thompson brought Jamaica to the world with Theophilio’s high-octane runway. Branded tracksuits, diasporic prints and Jamaica’s flag colors, sequined bikinis and bright dresses paraded past « Love Island USA » stars Pepe Garcia and Olandria Carthen, just the start of the NYFW takeover of the reality show’s latest season’s cast. – Anika Reed

Dwarmis

At the Dwarmis presentation in Tribeca, models stood on blocks to show off a collection featuring functional pieces with a high-fashion flare. It’s indicative, designer Dwarmis tells USA TODAY, of the woman she has in mind when she sketches the pieces. The material for the dresses was both sleek and sporty, leaning into a day-to-night sensibility, and hand-stitched in Manhattan. – Anna Kaufman

CLD NYFW kickoff event

CLD PR celebrated fashion week’s arrival at Times Square’s W hotel with a host of brands: fashions from BAYEAS, Luli Fama, Nikki Lund, Petite Hailey and Sepi Agari; jewelry from Hannah B. Jewelry; and haircare, fragrance and award-winning skincare from It’s Messy by Alli Webb, House of Dastan and Phystine Skincare. Guests had bites to eat and drinks to sip from Sofia Vergara’s coffee brand Dios Mio, Doughlicious, The Seafire Grill and Bom Dia Bubble. – Anika Reed

Private Policy

At Private Policy’s runway, Olivia « Liv » Walker from « Love Island USA » was among the stars in attendance, as was Nelly sitting beside an antsy Kodak Black, who stood for most of the show. The collection was heavy on bubble skirts and dresses, offering a sleek take on mid-season coats and leaning into light colors and tailored short-sleeves. – Anna Kaufman

Christian Siriano

Oprah, polka dots and chaos. « It’s chaotic down there, » one publicist said as 600+ attendees descended the escalator in Macy’s Herald Square to a cream-colored runway, decorated with swagged fabric and fragrant white hydrangeas. But amid the pandemonium caused by Oprah’s arrival and exit (plus the excitement over front row guests Gayle King, Whoopi Goldberg, Lizzo, Adam Lambert and more), Christian Siriano turned out a collection with some bright spots, both literally and figuratively. Black-and-white polka dots joined stripes and sheer tulle gowns to lead the pack before a rainbow of over-the-top, colorful dresses closed the show. – Anika Reed

Campillo

Mexican designer Patricio Campillo made his fashion week debut last September and returned this season with a low-key runway show in the Financial District. The brand worked with textile artisans for the first time and used knitted fabrics and felting techniques for the collection.

Bernie Martínez Ocasio, the model brother of Bad Bunny, walked the runway, and Mexican singer Sofia Reyes was spotted in the front row. – Brendan Morrow

Sergio Hudson

Sergio Hudson staged a return to the ’80s and ’90s with a modern twist: « Love Island USA » Season 7 star Olandria Carthen made her fashion week runway modeling debut as cast member/romantic partner Nic Vansteenberghe cheered her on from the crowd with Season 6 winner Serena Page. Mary J. Blige, Natasha Lyonne, « Real Housewives of Atlanta » alum Kandi Burruss, Karen Pittman and more sat front and center. – Anika Reed

‘Love Island’ star Olandria Carthen stuns in NYFW runway debut at Sergio Hudson

Hold NYC

Hold NYC punctuated its downtown presentation with David proteins bars and champagne. The show was all skin and stunning silhouettes with a row of male models donning sleek cardigans and colorful trench coats. A « memo » circulated to guests read, in part: « Once the last client signs, we’re shifting out of conservative assets and going all-in on high-risk, high-yield desirable investments. HOLD NYC is about to make the fiscal year very queer − and believe us, you won’t want to miss what’s waiting behind the velvet rope. » – Anna Kaufman

Altuzarra

With one of the best collections of the week, Altuzarra takes « tropes of femininity … and bends them into strange, heightened expressions that mirror the dissonance of our time, » per the show notes. Sheer mesh flats, fluttering feathers, sumptuous fur detailing, floral prints and textures, jackets funneled to the neck, leather cropped to perfection, gauzy romantic gowns: It was all stunning. – Anika Reed

Anna Sui

In a cinematic show that likely made front row guest Sofia Coppola (and daughter Romy Mars) proud, Anna Sui drew inspiration from the prairie and the New Mexico artist colony Mabel Dodge Luhan’s ranch house for the feminine collection of lace, chiffon and sun-faded prints. Bonus points for the soundtrack, with songs from the Velvet Underground, Sombr and more. – Anika Reed

Son Jung Wan

The « KPop Demon Hunters » phenomenon arrived at Son Jung Wan’s runway show, the soundtrack for which kicked off with « Golden » from the hit Netflix film’s soundtrack. The brand unveiled a collection that was an explosion of pink, teal and blue with plenty of silk, and « Gossip Girl » star Kelly Rutherford was seated in the front row. – Brendan Morrow

Alice + Olivia

Alice + Olivia went all-out for its « surrealist journey through American history, culture, and fashion through the lens of the American woman. » The entrance to the presentation was decorated to look as if attendees were emerging from a 20-foot dress of a model positioned on a higher floor holding a shimmering torch and wearing a crown a la the Statue of Liberty.

Inside, the walls were decorated with pieces of what the brand called a « reimagined Constitution titled We the Women, » and models stood on sets adorned with vintage imagery of the American flag, the Statue of Liberty, and even a giant prop burger and fries. The collection was tied to next year’s 250th anniversary of the U.S., and stars including Sarah Pidgeon, Julia Butters and Renée Elise Goldsberry stopped by. – Brendan Morrow

Prabal Gurung

Prabal Gurung took us to church. A choir’s angelic rendition of « Hallelujah, » among other songs, was the soundtrack for the designer’s « Angels in America » collection. « In a fractured world, hope is the most radical form of rebellion, » he wrote in the show notes. In « summoning angels from the margins, » Gurung pulled in Elon Musk’s daughter Vivian Wilson and « Pose » actress Dominique Jackson to walk the runway. (And, like Altuzarra with « The Memory Police » and Anna Sui with her « The Nineties » offering, this show had a book, « Volume 0, » on every seat. Mila Sullivan

Rather than a traditional runway, Mila Sullivan brought a flair for the theatrical, with models walking off the stage and up and down the aisles of the Manhattan arts center theater while live music was performed, as if they were characters in a play stepping into and out of the show. The collection, dubbed « Laid Bare, » was heavy on silk and lace and described as a « dreamlike ode to memory and material. »

In a reminder for all attendees to stay hydrated, models held « premium water bottles » that were as intricately decorated as the clothing items themselves, part of a partnership with luxury hydration brand Okapa. – Brendan Morrow

Christian Cowan

A Tribeca back alley was transformed into an urban runway for Christian Cowan’s presentation. Cowan drew inspiration from his hometown of Moaña, Spain, the woman in his family and « their legacy of creativity and strength, » representing « fragility in motion. » His partner, Grammy-award winning artist Sam Smith, was in attendance, along with Ben Platt, Noah Galvin, Kristen Chenoweth, Meredith Marks and Gabby Windey. – Alyssa Goldberg

Who Decides War

Seen: an incredible collection. Heard: singer Leon Thomas performing a live set (including unreleased song « My Love ») to accompany said collection. Felt: excitement for the future of fashion. Who Decides War, from Ev Bravado and Téla D’Amore, is world-building and creating a gorgeous vision for what the brand represents. – Anika Reed

Usher and Ralph Lauren party

Usher (who’s the face of a new Ralph Lauren fragrance) stepped out to celebrate his collaboration, decked out in purple velvet and feeling his debonaire charm to the fullest. « Girlfriends » creator Mara Brock Akil, Jodie Turner-Smith, Ryan Destiny and more turned up for the VIP festivities. – Anika Reed

COS

Along Brooklyn’s waterfront at the Greenpoint Terminal Warehouse, European retailer COS showcased a refined minimalistic approach to fall and winter dressing, which « The Summer I Turned Pretty » star Christopher Briney, musician Sampha and Jodie Turner-Smith took in from the front row. The inky navy, black, gray and peeks of plaid from the autumn/winter 2025 collection are now available to shop. – Anika Reed

Batsheva

Models — including celebs like Miss America 2026 Cassie Donegan and Molly Ringwald — floated through Jean’s restaurant in ruffled dresses, polka-dots and floral prints, styled with Patricia Nash’s spring 2026 handbags. Batsheva’s immersive brunch-style presentation allowed attendees to see their designs in motion, breaking the divide between high fashion and spectators. – Alyssa Goldberg

Head of State

Head of State posed the question of « If Heaven Could Talk » with its collection by designer Taofeek Abijako, infusing Nigerian ancestry into ethereal hoop-hemmed dresses, vibrant greens and ocean blues, fan-like necklines on dresses and bold reds. « Love Island USA » Season 7 star Chelley Bissainthe sat front row. – Anika Reed

Markarian

Designer Alexandra O’Neill says the rocky beaches of Maine inspired Markarian’s collection. The pieces, which leaned into light florals and a breezy color palette of robin’s egg blue and butter yellow, were drawn in part from her father’s garden.

A separate section of the preview was specifically for brides, whom O’Neill says she keeps in mind for all her pieces. Her take on bridal draws from the classics, she says, but skews unconventional. – Anna Kaufman

Bronx and Banco

Glittering dresses and a buzzy front row: Nicky Hilton Rothschild, Victoria Justice, Amerie, Saweetie and « Love Island USA » Season 7 stars Amaya Espinal, Iris Kendall and Chelley Bissainthe. The collection, filled with barely there ensembles, cut-outs and Bronx and Banco’s signature sequins and feathers, will certainly have its buyers for summer getaways and nights out at Catch, but it offered nothing we haven’t seen before. – Anika Reed

KFN The Venue Collective Showrooms

Fourteen designers, including five emerging brands from the Black in Fashion Council Discovery showroom (1389 Woodliff, Accorda, Elexiay, Ido and Omól), offered a moment of personal connection and exploration. There were accessories like bags and headwear from Anima Iris and Esenshel; jewelry from Don’t Let Disco and Johnny Nelson; and investigations of heritage in the form of ready-to-wear from Muehleder, Emote, Diallo, 5000 and Shwetembari. – Anika Reed

Dennis Basso

At Dennis Basso, a regal theme ran throughout, and a surprise appearance from Wendy Williams (amid her public conservatorship battle) had cameras snapping. Williams brought a small posse and sported a yellow shorts and blazer set. Her signature bright fuchsia lip and blonde-highlighted hair punctuated the aristocratic tastes of Basso’s works, with high-collared, sweeping gowns, arranged by color and clearly meant for no casual affair. – Anna Kaufman

Wendy Williams steps out for NYFW in rare appearance since conservatorship battle

Coach

Coach tapped the next generation of A-listers for its show, which may have featured next season’s new It Bag. Rapper GloRilla popped in next to « Euphoria » star Storm Reid, « A Complete Unknown » star Elle Fanning and « May December » star Charles Melton. The brand showcased new versions of its viral Kisslock bag and mini coin purses worn as necklaces (plus, more print media, with tiny books in the form of earrings and bag charms). – Anika Reed

NYFW street style: ‘Love Island’ cast, GloRilla, more stars step out at Luar, Tory Burch, Coach fashion shows

Tanner Fletcher

Tanner Fletcher is one of the most inventive and fun new brands on the market, and its theatrical fashion show blended whimsy with sentimentality, playful styling and silhouettes with wearable luxury. Models walked through a stage set to mirror a home, each carrying a piece to add to the faux living room. – Anika Reed

Shao

Shao transformed ARTECHOUSE NYC with flickering visuals and industrial music to envision a futuristic Chinatown. Models with slicked-back hair and fitted grills wore denim and chrome with pops of yellow and pink. The event ended with takeout boxes of fried rice and chicken catered by Philippe Chow. – Rachel Hale

Bibhu Mohapatra

At the Pierre Hotel just off Central Park, the Biphu Mohapatra show served a lineup of exquisitely constructed gowns, with heavy jewel work around the waists and grand, voluminous sleeves. The color palette leaned into brilliant hues, with some models strutting down the runway in neon greens and siren reds. Spotted front row were talk show host Sherri Shepherd, designer Sergio Hudson and beauty influencer Jackie Aina. – Anna Kaufman

Tory Burch

Tory Burch deposited a stunning collection in front of a money front row at her runway show, held at a former bank. Tessa Thompson chatted with fellow actress Emma Roberts, who sat next to singer Ciara and posed with actress Jessica Alba. « Mean Girls » star Avantika donned a pistachio green sparkling dress, sitting near « Saturday Night Live » star Chloe Fineman, who rocked a muted fuchsia frock. Top models and Burch favorites Emily Ratajkowski, Alex Consani and Paloma Elsesser walked the runway for the show, which had a softness to it with sheer takes on polka dots and florals, gorgeous bead work and swishy, ladylike skirts.– Anika Reed

Cucculelli Shaheen

Cucculelli Shaheen’s models strutted towards the sunset, with NYC rock band The Thing performing at the end of the runway, overlooking the Pier 40 waterfront. Dresses and suits were delicately crafted, featuring hand dyed and hand cut organza appliqué, jet beading and gold accents. – Alyssa Goldberg

Uniqlo The Art & Science of LifeWear

Inside the Museum of Modern Art, guests gathered to take in Uniqlo’s utilitarian designs. A panel of executives discussed the science behind the LifeWear stylings, with some speaking in Japanese as crowd members listened in to the translation on headsets. Brand ambassadors Roger Federer and Cate Blanchett also took the stage to discuss their connection to Uniqlo.

Federer said Uniqlo « really believed in me at the twilight of my career » and voiced appreciation for being able to both retire in the clothes and play in them at his prime.

Blanchett praised the brand’s durability. « Clothes are receptacles of memory; what you put close to your skin really has an impact on you, » she said, adding that she still has a denim jacket her parents gifted to her at 15. « I’m concerned about where we are as a species, » Blanchett said. « The state of women and how they feel about themselves … is vitally important to me. » – Anna Kaufman

Luar

Luar designer Raul Lopez used the runway to focus on a « vibrant defiance of costume and ritual performance, » per the show notes. Its rumination on the subject offered looks featuring festive feathers, bejeweled glasses and textures − from velvet to leather – all befitting an underground rave while the world is closing in. Basketball legend Dennis Rodman, rappers Ice Spice and Latto, and Solange (supporting model son Julez Smith) were on hand.– Anika Reed

The Blondes

David and Phillipe Blond’s runway show was an over-the-top spectacle filled with animal print, rhinestones and jewel-encrusted corsets. The collection pulled inspiration from femme fatales and old Hollywood, creating an immersive experience at Prince George Ballroom, where Lil’ Kim made an appearance. « It’s very cinematic, » designer David Blond says of the collection. « It’s based on films like ‘Femme Fatale’ and ‘Sunset Boulevard,’ ‘Basic Instinct.' » – Rachel Hale

Chris Habana

Kicking off during the after-hours portion of fashion week, Chris Habana’s show near NYU brought together a crowd of daringly dressed punksters and label fiends. Anna Delvey sat front row for a show that saw Vivian Wilson, the estranged daughter of tech founder Elon Musk, and City Girls rapper JT, on the runway. The collection, Habana told USA TODAY before the show, was inspired by both BDSM and a desire to play with proportions. – Anna Kaufman

PatBO

I wish everyone could know how delightful the florals lining the PatBo runway smelled. The burst of color from the roses, flowers and greenery perfectly complemented the vibrant and textural creations. Great gowns, beautiful gowns. Pamella Roland aimed to channel the « vision » of artists like Georgia O’Keeffe, Andy Warhol, Frank Stella and Alice Baber in her collection, which, though impeccably crafted, skewed toward prom-like colorways and mother-of-the-bride silhouettes. – Anika Reed

Not a singular pattern was lost on the audience at the Lost Pattern show. The beachy, scarf-heavy collection leaned heavily on creative draping and silk hair wraps.
